Working together
What kind of clients do you work with?
Mostly small and mid-sized teams and startups in Japan and Taiwan, though we work with clients elsewhere too. Chinese, Japanese or English all work.
Do we have to do everything, or can we do just part?
Yes, you can do part. A lot of projects start with a one-day review or a one-week diagnosis, and you decide afterward whether to continue.
Do you work remotely?
Yes. Most projects are remote anyway. If you’d like to meet in person, we can arrange it in Tokyo or Taipei.
How many projects do you take on at once?
Only one sprint project at a time, or we couldn’t deliver in two weeks. Advisory work can run alongside a sprint.
Pricing and timeline
How much does it cost?
It depends on scope. By the end of the first call you’ll have a range, so you won’t wait a week to find out if it fits your budget. There are no prices on the site because two projects both called “brand identity” can differ in scope by a factor of five.
How do you charge?
It depends on how we work together. Sprint projects get one quote once the scope is clear. If the scope isn’t settled yet, we price by phase and decide on the next one after each is done. Advisory is billed by the half day or full day. Maintenance and monthly reviews are a monthly fee you can cancel anytime. Every quote spells out the scope.
Two weeks? Really?
Yes. We skip three things: a project management layer, practice proposals, and feedback from a big committee. What we save is time spent communicating and waiting.
Does the timeline ever slip?
If feedback comes in late, yes. Our rule is a reply within 48 hours of a proposal. After that the schedule shifts, so both calendars still work.
What are the payment terms?
Usually 50% on signing and the rest on delivery. Longer projects are split into three payments.
Scope and delivery
How many revision rounds do we get?
Two revision rounds are included. Anything beyond that is billed hourly, and we’ll give you an estimate beforehand.
Why limit it to three decision makers?
With more people, opinions start contradicting each other. Every change leaves someone unhappy, and what ships is something nobody really likes. Ask as many people internally as you want, but please bring us one consolidated set of feedback.
Who owns the work?
Once the project is paid in full, everything is yours, including source files. We keep the right to show it in our portfolio, and you can exclude that in the contract.
Do you provide maintenance after handoff?
We handle any issues with the website for 30 days after delivery. After that, you can sign a separate maintenance contract. Identity deliverables are designed so you can maintain them yourself.
About AI
Do you use AI?
Yes. We use it for research, cleaning up transcripts, early drafts while we’re exploring, and first drafts of documents. We don’t use it for positioning calls, choosing between directions, final quality checks, or the commitments we make to you.
Then why not just do it myself with AI?
You can, and it’s worth trying. Small things are faster to do yourself. People who come to us usually aren’t after speed. They want someone to judge what won’t work, what will turn into a problem later, and which details fall apart up close.
About
How big is your team?
A small team. Brand, website and content go into one plan, and the same team sees it through without subcontracting. That’s how the scope stays fixed and the schedule stays accurate. When a project needs filming, illustration or a lot of front-end work, we bring in people we work with regularly, and the quote says so.
Can I see your past work?
Yes. Everything on the Work page right now is our own project, and each one is labeled. Client work will go up as clients approve it.
How do we start?
Tell us what’s going on. We reply within two business days. The first call is 30 minutes and free, and you’ll come away with a rough direction and a sense of scope.
Didn’t find your question?
Thirty minutes, no charge. Just tell us where you’re stuck.
